Well maybe I'm a bit too serious but heyy you only live once and why not just splurge yourself a little for the summer? I got myself 3 awesome stuff that keeps me going, one of my favs from Gentle Giant Ltd. and NECA Productions, is the Grey Wizard himself, Gandalf or a.k.a Mithrandir (for hardcore fans). Recently, NECA (on the left) was one of a kind in the market, 3000 limited edition, so it mine was stock number 2671, not bad eh? Its completely sold out in toys store everywhere, and this would be the best sculpture 20" I'd ever own. I just know where it will fit in my room!

The next Gandalf, is a limited edition as well, from GG Ltd. This one with beautiful detail, Gandalf Stormcrow is really the "real" thing, I could just stare at it till my eyeballs come out, ok I exagggerateeeee...
LOTR fan would not be complete without the COMPLETE special extended edition of LOTR! Fuck, this really gives me the goosebumps, over 20 hours of scenes and extras, at a price for $39 from Buy.com. You can never get lost Middle earth! I have both FOTR and TTT but not ROTK, so this is just perfect.
Finally, SIX FEET UNDER, this is one of the drama series ever, period! And I'm taking an English coursein Binghamton next Fall, I think it's ENG 398 Six Feet Under and Beyond - Death and its meaning. I cant wait!!!! This is a unique boxset with astroturf on top, resembles the tomb in the gravyards, 64 episodes, that 25 discs, cutscenes, extras and 2 soundtracks with collectors book, wow its worth every penny! Bid on Ebay for $150.

Grey's Anatomy Went "Nuts" Last Night

Gay's Anatomy last night tackled a topic last night that would make most grown men squirm. The chairman of the hospital board came back from the Amazon with an affliction that stumped the doctors, but was later discovered to be the byproduct of an invader — the parasitic Candirú fish that is attracted to urine and swims up your urethra if you happen to pee in the South American river.Said fish later made an appearance on X-ray and at the operating table.

But what made most eyes bug out was the appearance (in what may be a first for prime time) of their patient's private parts, bouncing into the top of the frame like some sort of alien mutant. As you can see, staff (including Isaiah Washington) couldn't take their eyes off it.

Sounds familliar? that was Xtina's hit back then in 1999. That was a long time ago, and the next time you hear this, you would be a mother two or even six. Monkeys, kidneys, reptiles...you name it. Dr. "A" got it all figured out. Yeahhh dream big, dickhead. Anatomy and Physiology II was something that I could relate to all this time, I think I have grown to love the course as the way it is. Playing with kidneys, doing the Bagel cut on it, it is a dream come true, seriously. Who would have thought that I would cut kidneys in 2007. Nobody! Not even in high skool.
As the semesters' coming to an end as so as my time in Plattsburgh, I feel like its just yesterday I came to this land of the Cardinals. Wasn't a big deal, well, the place was not the people I met here was definitely the cream of the crop! I'm sure gonna miss A&P class of 2006-07. It was one heck of the course, Dr. Amsterlaw, is so far the best prof. I could ever want for A&p...I'll be sure to take one pic with her when I get home, now that's a promise. For now its back to some kidney action and lame mnemonics to survive for finals, phewww...

Joss Whedon, the mastermind behind BUFFY and Angel is up to some SunnyDale Action again! I miss Buffy a hell lot because I was a Buffy-whore back in high skool, everything ends I'm afraid but Whedon still continues this cycle that will keep Buffy fans like me going after all these years.

Fifi I know you're a huge fan of Buffy's and some comical project that they're planning would be sure to satisfy us I hope...re-runs of episodes on some channel would be fun too, I hope you're spoiling yourself with the DVD's.

While I'd much rather have a live-action version of the continuing tale (WITH all the original actors), I realize that that can't happen. This comic series sounds like a pretty good compromise to me. From what I understand, there will a lot of surprising developments introduced in the storyline ... and beloved characters will be brought back. I am very excited to find out how things have been going since ... well, Sunnydale imploded. I heart BUFFY, SPIKE, AND boo boo XANDER foreva!

It's Official I Must Be A NYC-centric If...

It was great to meet you yesterday, and I know that it's stilla short while but means a lot! I can't believe you David Lim! You expressed anxiety about not just whether Columbia was right for you, but if NYC was right for you, tsk tsk...shame on you and I can totally relate to that (even though I'm killing my ass here in da Burgh!)

Whenever I pass the Brooklyn Bridge and just step foot on Man' Island, I felt like my life was reaching this culturally-stagnant apex, and I was reallly looking for a more diverse and culturally rich next-phase-of-my-life, but then again I'm not in a position to transfer again, damn. For me, NYC happened to be the place, for you...well, that's a decision that you'll have to make. But I figured I would tell you the top 10 and crappy 10, and hopefully it will give you some perspective and bring you to tha dark side, you piece of pig. Let's start with the crappy first, and get it out of the way! OH-and these are in no particular order.

NYC CRAPPY 10:
1. Being surrounded by huge buildings and having to actively seek out the sunset.
2. Running and bumping into people all the time without so much as an excuse me (and after a while you find yourself not apologizing for your oafish behavior either).
3. Having to fork out 100-200 bucks for an air-conditioner, so that you can sleep at night during the month of August.
4. Having to take colder showers at night and position multiple fans on yourself at all times if you were too cheap, like me, to do #3.
5. Everytime you go out, you drop 20 bucks (whether you mean to or not). My old roommate called them "fun-tickets".
6. Having to deal with trains that don't run 100% perfectly when you depend on them, and you're late to an exam.
7. Having to invest in "winter clothes" (highly recommend a long puffy down coat or a cash/wool blend long trench, expect to drop in the neighborhood of 2/3-hund-o if you're a lady, don't know about guy's pricing).
8. Not being able to "escape it" as easily as you may want to.
9. Paying a stomach-unsettling amount of rent.
10. Adjusting to being far, far, far away from your family and friends.

Okay, now on to the reasons that make me proud to go home and brag to my friends about living in NYC before!!!

TOP 10 REASONS TO MOVE TO NYC THIS MAY:
1. Running or walking around the Jackie Onasis Reservior in Central Park at either sunrise or sunset-spectacular!
2. Going to Washington Squrare Park (down by NYU) and people watching on a Saturday (people actuallly push their dogs around in strollers).
3. Going to Coney Island, riding the Cyclone, and trying not to throw up your Nathan's hotdog.
4. Going out in the East Village/Lower East Side, staying out until 4 am, and then eating the best damn Falafel of your entire existance!
5. The Rub dance party that happens the first Saturday of every month at a venue in Park Slope, Brooklyn called Southpaw (I'm going tonight...so freakin' excited!)!
6. The day when someone asks you directions and you can actually help them!
7. Having access to pretty much anything 24 hours a day.
8. Not contributing to global warming (well as much) by riding public transportation.
9. Having access to the best music scene in the country (that's right Austin, TX and San Francisco and LA, what up now?!?).
10. okay...so one school related thing, but it's still NYC-centric, having access to seeing the coolest stuff ever because you'll be doing rotations in one of the best hospital systems in the nation, you fool. I can't get into the details because of patient-confidentiality, but trust me, some of you aren't even going to believe some of the crazy medical cases you're about to see! Only in New York City, you can't make this stuff up! I'm heading there again April 14, and you'll see what I mean!

Here's whats happening...O.K this sounds pretty stupid but all of the things I'm going through this week has something to do with death and maybe oxymoron to think about it even though I'm alive but its an interesting phase to discuss, especially when you're looking at it in so many perspectives.

We'd talked about "End Of Life Care": Nursing Fundamentals was interesting, oooh wait till the Mid-Term comes and I'll be in my grave with a bunch of lilies...
My pal from Brooklyn, NY, Russell's doggie died...a terrier! awww he's an old-bag of fun!
Death in Literature, wtf! I mean I'm taking Child's Lit but does the character of the story have to die...Bridge to Terabithia was a conversial segmentation of realism, but death at young?

Oh, and Camay sent me interesting photos when she was out in Manhattan today, and boy it was all depressing!It was close to 60° in New York this weekend. Nice enough to take a walk in Central Park. The skies were blue, the ponds were thawing, and the pigeons were out in force. Well, most of the pigeons. A dead pigeon with winter coming at a stop, oh please.
Finally, me I'm dead now so rest in peace because the assignments and tests is definitely a torture, would some one just euthanize me now?

America's So Called " New Prince Charming" Arrives in US

Recently, Beckham had been cashing in on fame and fortune. Since he's migrating to Los Angeles and no more the Mr.Red Devil we know in UK...he choose to come here as a prince, wtf! I mean, c'mon is this the way to get exposure in America? Why not show us your "trademark" corner-kick skills instead? And the question would be:'is there a part for Victoria in all this?' I hope not!

Not to mention, days ago, New York's Madame Tussauds museum put on display figures of the soccer idol and his wife, a former member of the Spice Girls singing group.

The figures are dressed for the red carpet, draped in a US flag and being greeted by a figure of US President George Bush holding a sign saying "Welcome to America." The couple will move to the US in August when Beckham begins a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team in a deal worth $US250 million ($A316 million). Singapore...Are You Dreaming Ah?

Singapore Dreaming is a poignant, yet darkly humorous story about a typical Singaporean family coming to grips with their aspirations (extracted from 19th Singapore International Film Festival website). The film was the first ever Singapore Foreign Film to win an International Film Award @ the San Sebastian International Film Festival held recently. In this movie, each member of the family struggles in climbing to reach their seemingly impossible dreams, which mostly revolve around the practicalities of life. Although this short film is released in the world premiere screening at San Sebastian weeks ago...this is definitely a must watch film for the current asian society. This film sumps up evrything that's happening not only in Singapore but our asian neighbors as well...the teasers were just amazing, because the words and characters just hits you. Undoubtedly, this movie is close to reality of people living their lifes out and forget who themselves really are. It's a reflection, and for me, look back at my past and my review my current aspirations.

Well, it was like every other normal day in Plattsburgh, but of course its TGIF and we' really want to let ourselves go after a week of class. A cook-out was the best way to sum up the week and what better way to enjoy and start the weekend with a Japanese feast, prepared by our favorite chef, Ayako. She's cooked the pop^ Oyako Don and some miso to with, mmm..and they even sound the same? It was really late though and we even manage to slam in a movie at the end.Since its Friday the 13th, and its oh-so-spooky day, we decided to watch Ju-On, the gurls are screaming and the boyz just laughing at the gals, boy did we enjoyed it. And some sparks just came thru between ahem and ahem and let's just say, country gal meets city boy. Let's do it again shall we! Come to me facebook and see what I mean...

Nothing much really, the past couple of days has been boring really especially with exams coming to get us again and this time is no laughing matter. Those fucking exams just wouln't quit coming up but hopefully this weekend will change everything, so what's actually happening in NY. Rumors said that winter is coming early and hell yeah...Buffalo's snowing already and campus looks pretty dead, what do you expect. It's freaking cold outside. T.G.I.F! The PICL meet was one of the best I had so far! The food was good, people were so nice and we had fun talking all the way. Gabrielle & Bob and their kids were great, And yeah I did eat lot and yes, I admit I'm a chocoholic whose into bad habits, hehe! Natalie and Ayako was also there and we had a blast. It's just too bad Yasko and Saatchi didn't make it. I'll make sure we'll meet altogether again. I can't wait for our shopping together on Monday. I seriously need a coat for the freakin' winter. Finally, a break of 4 days, and I'm filled up for the week. Friday is one of the best days here in Plattsburgh, everyone starts loosening up, waiting for the weekends to come by and just chill. Here are some pics on the foliages around campus. Now what are the things I plan to do in this breezy 'autumnastic' season, well not much but I would love to head over to Burlington and the parks here, Gabrielle, my host "mom". She is so nice! Love her, love her....she is taking us places, yeah and I'm definitely not gonna miss out on that. And, the shopping for the winter? I gotta go stock up some in my warbrobe, it's fucking cold rite now, my bones are shaking like there's no tomorrow. I would love to go shop this weekend and that's what I'll do! Here's a list of things to do before Fall fades away, I must do this, I have to:

4. Help with her move out up north
5. Go see this natural hot spot that she's talking about!
6. Pictures, pictures and more pictures uploads
7. Thanksgiving feast, cant miss that out!
8.Maybe wear something during halloween...i don't know what the hell I'm gonna be?
9. Maintain constancy with whats going on in class & nail the anatomy stuff, its a pain in the ass! 10.Finally, mingle with more nursing peeps, I don't see any, where are u guys?

It's been like a month since I came here and like everyone else missing everything in Malaysia. Schools here pretty tough and for the first time I'm on my own, not that I've not done it before, but seriously, this is so different from back home, new people and challenges to face... FALL is officially here and its really beautiful to see the foliage and the change of weather makes you nison with nature, you change with the seasons. I miss the sun but I have to experience all the seasons myself. Rebirth @ Plttsburgh, Good Idea: Dead Blog, Not Good

Holla people I'm back in the Blogging business once again...it was a one month hiatus I just feel so bad and detached form the world of internet. Kill me now, I deserve it...and well I feel I wanna knock my head against the wall, well I'm welcome to but then again, nobody would write the blog right. SilLy me! Oh well, Plattsburgh been a good place, well in some ways but I think everything here is fine. Tests was freaking hard but I got through it, lots to go thru until winter breaks in. I miss Florida, my friend the sun is just what I need. Lina, my sis is moving to Daytona Beach, FL, They actually moved a few days ago, so no Orlando for me I guess when I go back there... If you're still following my blog, please do so because its the only way I can communicate my thoughts to th e people of the world haha! Still I'm happy that I could write a blog here....this is my forst blog in U.S yay! (above, Lina's house: they've moved and I dont know where the hell they're gonna be at! No idea)

Keith Goes Off the Runway But Why Oh Why?

I'm a big fan of reality tv series
especially Proj.Runway, its official
...it's a great show to satisfy your craving for artistic creative energy and at the same time just have fun laughing out loud and breaking a few nerves here and there. So, I'd actually been catching up witht the series and downloaded some of the latest episodes using P2p of course....season 3 not 2. I know Travel And Living is still airing final moments of season 2, but I do enjoy watching series from last seasons especially my favs was Daniel, Santino and Chloe.

Chloe was hot and talented and it's just amazing to see how they've grown so much over the past months. Lots of opportunities, lots of stories to tell, People mag reports....
so what the hell are they doin' right now.

Season 3: brand new:bad news:Keith: a hottie,I think he kicked ass:he was one of the first d'signer to fall, got kicked out....and that's just plain awful. What's next for the mr.suave? "I am focusing on getting a showroom to represent me," he says. "I need cash behind me to do what I want. Getting the funding that I need will hopefully let me show in September", says the ever stunning Keith Michael, People says. See the going-away video at Bravo

I bet you heard about the heat-killing news happening across the U.S, in CA its fucking hot and the weather claimed a few lives. Even sis living in FL was complaining about the merciless heat that made the news. "The heat is different from M'sian one" said Lynn.The Dry, sizzling and scorching rays of the summer are a deadly combinaton, especially if you're living at the Southern states. The Big apple suffered and temperatures remained brutal. The National Weather Service reported record highs for the date at La Guardia Airport (99 degrees), Kennedy International Airport (99) and Newark Liberty International Airport (100). Records were also set in Islip, N.Y., at 98 degrees, and Bridgeport, Conn., at 97. The temperature in Central Park reached 96, which was short of a record.But guess what, rain came pouring in Manhattan this weekend and people went hysterically crazy about the rain, its been weeks since the Big Apple got a shower. Late summer and the Fall is just around the corner. I just hope that when I get there, my skin and lips doesnt crack like a nut and shed like a snake, it'll be disgusting and weird to see skin sheds continuously, it will probably take some time to get use to the Fall.

Where Has Mikey Boy Been ?

Truth is, nowhere! It's always the same old routine as my days in Malaysia is so going to end soon. I'm hunting for every Malaysian food I love and possibly the best in town. I know its gonna be tough leaving behind the "mamak"routine I always have with friends and of course those chinese pastry. It'll not be the same even though NY's Chinatown have some of them. What are the 10 things I'll miss, here's Mike Top 10 "Misses" of Malaysian Food (in random order of course), all deserved to be my #1's because I'd grown with them all my life!

My Jalan SS14 Wong Soon Kee's Seafood Pan Mee
SS2's Crunchy Curry Puff (forgot what's the vendor called) , its fucking huge and its worth every single sen!(and the S'ban Siew Pau is just so addictive and loads of fat too, but I still eat it, I can't resist)
The mamak's we have everywhere, especially during WC, it's the most happening place like a club, difference is you get Roti Canai and tarik served (still loads of fat)
Nasi Lemak: it's a love-hate relationship, you love it because it's a rice that you can't find anywhere else in the world but hate because it's so fat, haha!
All those asian buffets & high-teas in high class hotels are just O.K with me.
Laksa places, I've got a bunch of places I love going to satisfy my crave for laksa, cant remeber the name but it's still fat!
In Ipoh, there's a restauraunt selling taugeh and chicken...lou wong, yes that's aplace I'll never forget, my hometown
A weeks ago in Penang, another hawker stall, I still can't remember the name: Lesson 1: next time remember where' you're eating at, please Mike!
Kopitiam...The Old Town one is O.K
And finally, I miss the good-old Malaysian breakfast in the morning, whether it's chinese, malay or indian mamak...you know you're hung with it! The banana leaves, chopsticks and sambal does it everytime.

Pack and Fly or Rest then Pack and Fly?

Gawrsh, the anticipation of going over to NY is drivin' me nuts and I'm so buzy that even forgot to update the blog so here's one that O.Riginally stinks. With the finals in just a few days away and the flight of my life in a week. Bit-size tension is in the air, and growing every minute in Malaysia. Expectations are kinda low but confusing. Study is priority but getting ready is a lot of work. Even got major japs from Mr.doc of mine...and my arms hurts...ouch!

The last time I get a dilemma like that was back then, that is choosing the schools to apply to, then choosing schools to attend. Well the truth is, Plattsburgh was not my first choice coz it sucked big time but then again you can't go wrong with a partial scholarship offer, so I decided to go ahead with it instead of attending UAB or Nebraska. Ilove these schools, unfortunately financial reality sinks in. I'm so frustrated and I though all hope was lost but then again, at least I have another 2 years to complete a degree and maybe go to the schools I really want to go to. I'd even try flipping coins to determine which school would be "the one" and it turned out to be Plattsburgh.

Fortune favors the bold so I head for the Plattsburgh alternative but never in my darn head imagined that all will turn out to be a.O.K. It turns out that Plattsburgh had transfer affiliations with SUNY Binghamton, a top public school, and it's way better than an ordinary college. So, I'm really happy with the decision. I can go transfer to Bgm'ton in my Junior year. I'm gonna spend my last years as an undergrad in good old upstate Ny.

But getting ready to pack for the trip and the entire year @ NY is sick! I must admit, I'm a real loser in packing travel items, there are just too many items to bring and the 'regret' of not bringing the items you're suppose to bring but you don't have to, is such a pain in the ass, seriously....so guys, anyone who live out country for studies, comments would help A LOT! Luggaes are life-savers....it's just too bad there are limits. Rite now, progress is on the way!

Bucaneers Score Big Time This Summer

Well, Capt. Sparrow and his crew of the Blck Pearl did it again becoming one of the top movies for this year (and this is fact) Arrrgghhh...look at that staggering amount of gross at the box office, a whopping USD$322 mil, still encounting. No other movie this year can beat these lads and it'll be a miracle if it ever happens. Anyway here's review on the film itse;f. I am a fantasy film freakazoid myself and LOTR of course is the masters of all fantasies, sadly their trilogy came to an end, but looks who's here to feed our hunger for the mystical world of fairy tales, its POTC and of course, Jack! Depp is just a beauty to watch, can't help laughing...hell yeah. So, last nite I went watch Dead Man Chest AGAIN, it's been how many times? Like 4 times I think? Bbbuttt,It's worth every penny because there are some good reasons, #1 the movie was long but a bit draggy, still you're paying a ticket for entry. #2 Jack is Back and Keira. darling....she's just so pretty to drool and Bloom, the Romeo of our century, fed-up of his presence actually and finally #3 Jack Sparrow's beard, did I tell you I have a fetish on his beardy, bushy facial hair, oops secret's out, but the make-up was just perfectly well done.

Now, what I don't like about the film....it's draggy once again because it's all about the 'Don't trust others' theme and it took Bruckheimer an hour to spread the message but overall everything you want in a Blockbuster, Pirates serves it on a silver plank....if you dare to jump! Another thing that makes a bit dissapoinment was some scenes are not in the film. Yes people....F.Y.I; They deleted some parts! Click here to watch the trailer

Go watch the movie again and see the theatrical trailer and you'll find the weird stuff I'm talking about...It was in the trailer but it wasn't in the movie like: on the when cannibals was chasing Jack will says "where's Jack I can leave without him." Then he sees Jack running and he says "Never mind, lets go" but in the movie he says "Times up!". And when Jack was cheif he's suppose to ask one the natives "I see alot lot of women every where, but not much childrens, why is that", then the natives says "They've all been taken", well i found that on the pirates.movies.com and this too , well i kinda saw it on the secret of the pirates of the caribbean video.

Next scene, When they are on the beach with the 3 men fighting starting Jack says to Will "If you miss trust me, listen, you can miss trust him, trust me."So those parts were deleted from the movies, i'm not very happy that they didn't put that in. Still, Pirates still deserves my place in one of my fav fantasy must-see....I'm gonna watch it again and again till I get fucking tired of it! Yeah I'll do that...and I'm not wasting my money. (left Depp and Bloom enjoying a post-pirate retirement, POTC 3 due out next Summer featuring Chow Yun Fat, (left pic) a famous Cantonese HK Born actor playing some dastardly villain (his famous roles in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Anna and The King) ....whoa bet you didn't know huh, so here's the rumor. Imagine, an Asian pirate in the Carribean shores, I didn't know pirates can be so multietnical, bravo Hollywood!

The "Melting pot" once again host the ever popular 29th Asian American International Film Festival in NYC. The fest is a great way to portray asian americans in the film industry in a positive way, saying that we are active in the business and we're just as talented as other minorities as well. And so to join in the fever of Asian Films and unleash the 'wild dragon' in me, All this month I'll be analyzing on east asian films. I bought lots of International Asian Films, (in fakey piracy of course) and most of the films are directors from the east to the U.S born...=) all fakeys coz it's really expensive and hard to get here in KL. Lots of great films to catch up and aspiring directors to discover here are the three films I'd watched at my four-walled room filled with the air of total boredness:

After The Apocalypse: A Film shot in a bleak black & white photography, the film is a futuristic fable about coming back to life. Four men and one woman have survived a third World War. I must say that T.F.F.3 is one of the best in the all 3 series and this one I'd watched it in the cinema because I only watch films on fakies when they are not available on screen.

I'm beginning to immerse myself in Korean films which has quite a distinctive voice in the public eye in the present. It's amazing to see that Korean films have grown maturely and more creative in story and the way it is written, there's a provocative quality compared to its western counterparts. So here's two films which stand out, and gave me a new view about Korean films.

TYPHOON:A treacherous scheme is being carried out that will result in the death of millions across the Korean Peninsula.It's action packed and it makes your brains do the thinking...more like those HK Mafia films.
The King And The Clown: Was a big hit in The Korean Film Industry back in 2005 arrives worldwide and in the states as well. Now this one, I watched it on a fakey and piracy version of course sucked::bad quality,the film was not shown in M'sia just like Brokeback Mtn. This film is kind of like the Asian version of Brokeback but with a little twist. Love the way Korean and partially American Director, Lee Joon Ik directed the film. One thing that stand out is the portrayal of how forbidden love can affect humankind and it makes society view sexual orientation and gender equality and as always an emotionally intense movie to watch like Korean and Japanese Films. It hits your gut!

Don't think I can make it for the film fest but it's in August and it's close to day I depart...but at least I get to see some of the films this week and beyond. But I'm gonna miss my fav actress, Sandra Oh, love her role in ABC's Hit series Grey's Anatomy. Sunday - July 16: Columbia Answers!

Titan of Great American Skools arrives, not really. Alumnis, current students and reps from the skools meet together @ the Sunway Convention Centre for this one time event. Though, I'm quite dissapointed with the reps presence. They did not show up, so there weren't much information obtained but manage to talk about the alumni's experiences. My school did not showed up because yeah it is "not-your-famous" school I guess. That's o.k!

43 out of the 47 schooles turned for the event manage to get lots of goodies from brochures to pencils and even a mini football, yay! (not a soccerball) Ivy League schools, of course, were the stars of the show. Dartmouth college was the only one that didn't make its way to KL. Others were great and as always, the Harvard booth was like a place selling popcorn, although they didn't! Just don't get the point, I mean it's just a school with a famous name, some even stayed for hours at that booth talking to the alumnis there. I bet they get bored of the same questions and people, lolz!

There were some pretty weird things happening while I was there, the building (floor) rumbles and shake,I thought it's one of those earthquake moments, seems to be the construction of Pyramid 2 next to us. Second thing is, this "Kiasu Girl" I met at the fair, really "kiasu'...asking for my 'free-bag' whether she can have it even though I' carrying it...ahhh and all that stuff, please stop the 'kiasuness', just don't be so obvious even if you want to be kiasu person and finally, I came face to face with my student visa inspector I met at the US Embassy, she's really nice, didn't expect she would come to a social event like that!

Ah yes... the Master of all skools in the entire world, Harvard in its Crimson Glory, their brochures are "selling" like hot-cakes, the stall packed with parents, droolers and dreamers.

Eh, why the t-shirt come off izzit? I must say that Columbia's booth looks a bit dull dont'cha think. C'mon Columbia...where's your shine! I got there and most of the alumnis I talked to were engineers...great! They don't know anything about Nursing. Duh! I'm coming to Columbia baby!

Saturday - July 15: Dance till the Cows Come Home

Bon Odori in Shah Alam was not really the "real thing". Compared to the one I went to in Penang, Shah Alam's Matsushita venue was way smaller and it didn't have those fireworks which I'm longing for to see.At least I have my final one before I'm back to FL , there's not gonna be one unless I'm at San Fran or Hawaii. Anyway, I had a great time with my high school friends and mange to get some shots at the scene of the crime.

Niko Niko Kitchen offered a wide varieties of japanese foods like onigiri, korokke, ikayaki, yakisoba, hiyashi udon and so on~

...Sushi King too (the not so Japanese Authentic restauraunt...boooo)

Galz in bright color yukata having their shaved ice :) I didn't get the chance to grab as hved ice though coz the queue was fucking long and the dance is about to start!

Thursday And Friday- July 13 and 14: The Not-So Eagle Island

Kedah-Langkawi was a great place to go for a weekend and I took some photos....I was awaya from Internet access, so can't really write blogs at that period of time but anyway lots of things happened from Thursday to Sunday. Went to Langkawi for two days, Bon Odori with me High skool friends on Saturday and Experiences Fair yesterday.I'm totally exhausted but fun is the word for this entire weekend.

What's With Gyms These Days?

Hey, all you gym freaks, no maybe You are but I'm turning into one. All of a sudden, It's kind of like my routine, sometimes I feel sick going there but then again after that scrumptious dinner at Fridays....it's a lifesaver! So what is so fascinating about going to the gym, well to me the reason is I burn off the stuff I eat evryday and I feel great about it, I could just eat anything but wait a minute isn't unfair. I mean we eat the stuff we like we have to earn not just but paying for it but you gotta lose it at the end by losing it you gotta work hard losing it....does even make sense, wish it does. That's how we humans live our lives we enjoy, we pay the price. Sick! Spending a day at the gym is sometimes refreshing but I get tired watching the TV there, lots of crap especially if you're in Malaysia. The one I'm going now, FF in Summit, I get a bit bored going there, but I love the RPM classes though. Now, what about weight trainning, yes I had a pledge to myself that I'm working my body, building muscle and toning up. Finally, inspired to get the model bodies on the mags. Today, I feel like I'm fucked with the weights I'm carrying...they are pretty light, embarassed actually, but hey you gotta build and go slow with it. At least I'm trying out. Pretty hard though. Still gotta watch what I eat. "The body is my temple" I forgot who quoted that, neat! Lots of stuff to learn when you wanna have a body to kill, thinking about protein and all those supplements and lifting positions and reps, all that shit.

Since I'm going to the U.S soon and stuff, I might continue weight training there but it's gonna be like a competition, guys there lift triple the weights asian guys here lift. I feel disgusted but its all the genes, huh? Kay, I'm really psyche about tomorrow because I'm meeting up gurlfriend from Wisconsin and not ur average gurl( trust me on this), just a really good friend of mine. And guess what, a try-out at California Fitness. Heard lots of great stuff about the place, too bad I'm not here for long. Nooo...god I just ate a bar of choc...well guys it's back to the gym for now.

So, what is this event abut anyway, well my friends tell me to spread the word about this one time evnt happening soon in July. It's a great event to attend especially if you're thinking of going to U.S to further your study, you wouldn't wanna miss this. I myself of course plan to head for a Columbia Education, because it's a good school.

So, Ivy League freaks, do come to this event yeah! Basically, this education fair is unique from other education fairs, in the sense that the exhibitors are fellow Malaysians who have been accepted into all these top universities in US, as well as studied there, and some haveeven graduated from there. These bunch of people are the best people to ask advice on how to getting into such institution. As of now, 47 top tier universities, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, MIT, University of Pennsylvania etc have confirmed their participation.

Getting Jiggy With Some Research on Art Pieces

Yesterday nite, was like just any other night. Ass on the chair, radio's on and sketches drawn. I spend most of my time reading but of course, there assignments to be done. Like the one I had just last week. Tomorrow's the deadline, and right now I'm just working on it. Thanks to the "mr.Lazy" here, typing this blog. This assignment was harder than I thought, filled with crappy details but then again its quite refreshing. Title of the assignment: Islamic Art: Is Modernization Possible? .This is a random topic I got from my lecturer, and at first was like what the fuck was that all about? I know little about the art of Islam maybe because of the exposure I get school. Back then, it was modern and traditional art all the way. What I found out about Islamic art is just exotically weird yet fascinating. I got a inspired as always after reviewing some pieces on the net

Islamic art seeks to portray the meaning and essence of things, rather than just their physical form
Painting and sculpture are not thought of as the noblest forms of art
Calligraphy is a major art-form
Geometry and patterns are important
People do not appear in specifically religious art

So Islamic art focuses on the spiritual representation of objects and beings, and not their physical qualities.The art I'm talking about can be fused with today's modern gothic revival style, which is what I'm trying to figure out un my assignment. But is it against the nature of Islam with its exquisite deep cuts and meaning. It's a debate on my paper alrite.

So, I was there sitting at my fav desk of my entire life...well I assume there's gotta be better ones but a simple one will do. Here, you would think its pretty messy...like those designer desk when their in progress...and mine's pretty like those, except I love stacking stuff, messy is sometimes fun, gotta let loose and break the rules a little. After all that hardwork, cleaning up the fuckin' desk was also fun, because I just can't stand it when the top is messy and I'm not doing anything.

Another friend of mine, an artist like me is just eccentrically crazy about her but then again who would not love a provoking artist like Frida. Talking about it, I even watched the film played by Salma Hayek...two times I think on her b'day. So, there you go that's my tribute, simple but meaningful.

Art assignments like these are a lot work but they're pretty interesting and I don't mind working another especially if it's post-modern which I get to do my fav artist of all, Warhol: The Master of all masters!

I'd never imagined an Italian Final in this competition, all I thought was Germany, Germany, Deusthland, but hey, again this is football, so anythings' possible. Match last night was aquite a bummer for me...my eyes closed when it went into 2nd half but I was awake when a.e.t was on the way. Didn't go "mamak" this time because too lazy to get out of the house. I've been out for quite sometime these days for the WC. It's been becoming a habit and unusual sleeping patterns are actually showing. Take for example: I slept 10 am in the morning once while I was having breakfast and the one @ noon, but I thik itwas just a short nap. But I'm not a nappy pillow person during the day, but this is weird. Guess football is just one crazy game, sacrifice must be done.So, what about Italia....ok my predictions were fuckin' wrong...haha, Germany losing it in the last minutes is like 90 minute disaster game. I dunno...its just, I don't feel quite right about it. Italia are not really peeps fav to win the cup, thanks to the little publicity they had this year. But, at least they've picked up their form like the French. I'm going for the French because I think, they're gonna go all the way. For Italians, "Au Revoir",as for the French, "Bellisimo"

Munch-Away with A Birthday

America celebrates its B'day this summer with eating extravaganzas. And taliking about dogs, munching 50 hot-dogs in a 12 minute time frame is exhilarating and at the same time, sick! I tried out a 15 hot-dog all you can eat test and it took me about 18 minutes to consume 13 and a half of it.But if I would to eat the dogs, I need to do it the "L.A Style" just like the ones I had in Pink's, California.Lots of onions, pickles, sauerkraut, hot mustard, jack cheese, sesame and nachos, but NO KETCHUP PLEASE: dogs don't go well with tomatoes, it'll ruin the taste.

The one I had was the Harry Potter special and it's fuckin' delicious, the best dog ever I had in my goddamn life. Ooohh..I could just taste the hot sizzling dogs of summer now...arghh. Don't worry my little puppies, I'm coming to get ya soon...real soon.

Nathan's Dog-Eating contest is equivalent to the wrld championship of fast food, particularly hot dogs, if didn't ya participate in this competition, you can't be crowned the world champ, peeps.

Streep Is So "Devilicious-ly" Fun

Calling all designer brand junkies, fanatics, and addicters alike...The Devil Wears Prada movie rocked! Although I didn't watch the movie yet, I have a feeling that this one is one major comedy you wouldn't want to miss, ::and the:: critics knows that Meryl Streep (previously in A Prairie Home Companion and The Manchurian Candidate) did it again with an outstanding performance for her 'notorious sadist' character, Miranda Priestly. The movie is originally based on a international bestselling novel by Lauren Weisberger, who tells her work-experience in Vogue.

Hollywood Critics said that this might be Streep's best performance so far in her career. Watching Streep bitching around with pure bitchiness is just too much fun. And if you watch the sneak peeks and scenes on Yahoo, you'll know its great stuff you're watching: all that Humiliation, dry humor, fashion bonanzas, stucked up assistants and a bit of tender loving romance, it's a dark, twisted, sophisticated, rich comedy.

We don't usually see Meryl at her 'worst" (and I mean in a good way) but this one is gonna knock your socks off. WARNING: This movie is totally for sophisticated fashion freaks. Those of you who don't know a single thing about fuckin' fashion these days...you're not gonna have a bitching good time, haha. So, pick-up that fashion mag and start drooling and digging at fashion facts!

I'm gonna stay true to my words, not going for piracy eventhough its on sale on the M'sian market right now...watch this at your cinema for the quality and it's gonna be worth every single penny, trust me! We'll have to wait for the highly anticipated comedy this summer, The Devil Wears Prada, in cinemas will be out in Asia late July, gawrsh...I'll be in Orlando at that period of time I'm afraid =(, I'll watch it while I'm there, I guess. For now, It's a face off between Mr. Kryptonite and Mrs. Devil Streep herself in the US BoxOffice.

I'd remembered two years ago, I used to row a boat at the Schuylkill River on the morning of July 4th, I wish I'm right there now breathing the air of summer breeze , great weather in Penn. But, of course she moved to FL so didn't see that coming. Well at least I get a Malaysian Weather for the summer in Orlando, still love the fireworks in DC though.

The Journey to Glory: theirs and mine ended today and it's been hard. As I always imagined that it'll be a draw because both teams are just outstanding teams. They deserve to be in K.O stages. Well, The Args felt the pressure and Germany got the upperhand advantage and you can't blame them for superb penalty action there. I thought it was the most high adrenaline game ever, what do you expect...this is truly a match not to be forgotten. So What Now? I'm an avid fan of marvel comics and I still keep those Marvel Trading Cards and a few key comics/editions I have 10 years ago,now just looking at it just takes your breath away. However, nothing is better that a great movie with everything you can imagine on-screen, Sam Raimi did a "marvel"lous job in adapting the Spiderman series on screen. Kudoz! So, as you know.....Sony Columbia Pics. plan to do a "6 episodic series" on screen for Spiderman because of its success and support from fans. Spiderman 3 is beginning to take its shape and our anticipation grows day by day for the release. Just yesterday, Sony released its teaser trailer for "3", the third installment for Spiderman...yay!

I know you guys are in Superman Hype mode, but please don't forget that Mr. Spidey is always around your neighborhood. So, the returning Superman would just have to bow to the power of Spidey's sophistication of humans, he's a more establish character these days...because Spidey's always around when you need him and Superman just flies around, and gets lost for a period of time.

Where the hell are ya, Superman? I know you've watched Superman already in cinemas but the problem is, because he's not on planet earth the whole time, people tend to forget this fallen hero, kay enough with the Superman thingy. In "3", Parker boy will face 3 ultimate villains from Stan Lee's key comic editions, "3" features Venom, Sandman, revenge of the green goblin a.k.a Hob-Goblin. Yeah I wish this would happen to me...but not in a million years, eh? ABC "Lost" star, Matthew Fox recently just looks great in this Italian Mag my sis bought. He's becoming a metro. like guyz all over here and a.k.a The New Sensitive Guy by the gurlz critics. I love watching this primetime series on AXN but always miss out on the episodes so I buy the DVD. Fox is just a great actor. There's just something different about him, the way he carried the character. Talk about addiction, I 'd just bought the Season 1, 2 today and I'm gonna watch it bck to bck wif my new mini-home theatre system...yay!

Ghana team got their just desserts when they manage to qualify for R-16 last nite. I'm happr they did because we should have an African team going in. It'll be fun and even though they're not as good as Argentina (my fav lol to win!). They add a touch of fun to the matches I've seen so far. Love their comebacks.

I'm really excited for the match: Brazil Vs. Ghana because it's gonna be one unpredictable match. When Football pOwerhouses like Brazil, Argentina and Portugal, you can't assume that they're gonna win all the time but of course the advantages are there.

Italy qualified top of grp E...plyed well andwill be meeting the Aussie boys. Now this one, I can say that Italy will definitely win this one, why? Duh...it's so obvious that the Aussies are weak in their line-ups. We'' just whether my predictions are right. The WC gets more intense and paraapapa...I'm Lovin' It!

American soccer has fallen, almost! I thought they were gonna make it like they did last WC but someone's gotta leave. The one thing I don't really like about American soccer is their country are not fully supportive for the team at all. I mean, it is growing in the states but I don't see any lovin' from the folks. One of my friend in the U.S says it's a"minor-thingy"."

Do you remember the ad that Rooney boy made for Nike? Now that fucking image sparked outrage. Recently, British tabloids have been getting statements and critics mostly from MPs and church groups.I think its just an ad with our dear old Rooney boy showing off his pride for football that's all. Nothing wrong there. Nowadays, church everywhere are getting critical with entertainment media these days. Look at Da Vinci Code, O' how lame can that be! For me, an ad is just an ad...the way you interpet it is just your own
business, it's kinda like ART right?

He is joining the L'Oreal dream team and becomes the new brand spokesperson for L'Oreal Paris skin care products. Slater has also been in several ads as spokesperson for your designer surfwear: Quiksilver, Volcom just to name a few....

The video with Laeticia Casta (hot model) can be seen in France and other countries, it's showing on local tv-stations in Europe it will not be seen in the US and Asia since they do not target this market with him! Furthermore, L'Oreal Malaysia doesn't market the line (products) for men so Slater can't be seen in our local ads. Carlos Tevez was hell of a great player today, the Sunshine squad put in a marvellous effort in the game and remain unbeaten!Lets not let their Latino rivals "Mexico" get in their way. It will be diificult for both teams, because they're good!

Too bad there was no scoring, but not a terrible game. Argentina had the better of it, but I think the result was appropriate given the run of play. Orangey Netherlands still trying to find some enthusiasm in their play. I still say finishing runner-up is the preferrable result given the initial competition in the next rounds. Bottomline? I'm loving the selection of tracks here. Only a couple are currently available on iTunes. The whole lot feels very summery to me. However, the man that pulled it off for Argentina is none other than Lionel Messi. He's a great player, better than Rooney Boy definitely. FIFA is yet to nominate the awrd and I think Messi should win it. Recently, Fifaworldcup.com has done a survey for fans and ask them who deserves the award and Messi came up on top! Entourage Arrives to Asia...It's About Time!

Not this one...In my perspective, it's a great story, rich and diverse characters played by talented cast (like Jeremy) is always a trademark of HBO Originals just like the Sopranos and Six Feet Under. It has got this pure emotional quality and depth to it, really thought provoking yet humorous! You guys gotta watch this and I'll guarantee it'll be as good as Six Feet Under.

Devil Starts Wearing Prada in Cinemas

Hollywood celebrities were out in full force for the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada, opening theatres soon on June 30. I'm not sure when It'll be showing in M'sia because its quite unpredictable but I'll be sure to catch this one out.

The film is recommended for those fashion fanatics out there. It will definitely give you a taste on how Business in Fashion is really like: Cold, Harsh but Beautiful.If America's Next Top Model isn't enough to satisfy your craving for fashion fights, this one will sure tickle your fancy! According to Hollywood.com,the premiere created a hell lot of commotion in the hollwood scene.

The stars of the film, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, Adrain Grenier were joined by the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Lydia Heart, and Rosie Perez, just to name a few.

In a recent interview Anne Hathaway (recently Brokeback Mountain) recalled how Stanley Tucci (Shall We Dance) kept elbowing her boobs. Reportedly, it was not in a sexual harassing kind of way.

She explains, "There was this one day where he kept elbowing me in the breast. He wasn't doing it to be like a dirty old man, but if we were doing a scene or I was just crossing to get to my mark (on the set) he would just smack me in my boob and elbow me.

"If you're a girl you know that hurts. So, after about the fourth time, I finally turned to him and said, 'Stanley can you please stay away from my t**s?' "Stanley got really flustered and he said, 'What do you expect, you're flinging those melons around like it's harvest season!'"

Scanning Owen is "Not Good"!

Michael Owen is set for a scan on his knee on Wednesday after being stretchered off during England's clash with Sweden.

Newcastle striker has been struggling for match fitness throughout the tournament following a broken foot suffered earlier this year - but he has now suffered what looks like a huge blow.

There are now major concerns about him after his knee seemed to give way underneath him as he turned in the opening minutes of the match in Cologne.

There was no Sweden player near him at the time and he immediately crawled to the sidelines and, just moments later, physio Gary Lewin called for a substitution and Peter Crouch came on.

Early reports suggest he has at least a twisted knee, although many already fear a possible medial ligament injury - which would mean around six months out of the game.

However, England are unlikely to comment any further until scans are carried out on the injury on Wednesday.

In the short-term Owen's future at the World Cup finals look very much in the balance, meaning Peter Crouch and the untested Theo Walcott are England's only potential strike-partners for Wayne Rooney - who himself is well short of match fitness following his recent injury.

So,the bottom line is Owen....is in deep shit because he'll miss the tournament of his life.I really wish he could continue on but just have to pray for the better.

Predict 2-0 to England then either Holland or The Argies in the quarters.With England’s proformance thus far in the tournament, I wouldn’t consider them losing to Ecuador going home early but rather on time.

Once again, the Latinos showed no mercy on those inexperience teams. Let's just wait till BRZ find its match. I can see it clearly now, ARG vs BRZ in the Finals...or not! We'll see,huh?

Nothing Can Stop Them Shining Unless...

Holy Crap. What a pounding… With so many things to say, here are a few salient observations:
1) I think I remember Argentina beating Mexico 6-0 on the way to its 1978 title (though I could be wrong here). If so, that’s a great omen;

2) Abbondanzieri has so far seemed like an entirely different person than the one suited up for the preliminaries (though he hasn’t been tested);

3) On this blog, we’ve referred to Messi / Tevez as the offensive, off-the-bench ‘ace up the sleeve’ - Today they scored 3 goals in approximately fifteen minutes…How do you think an opponent must feel if they’ve managed to contain Argentina’s starters for, say, a half and then have to look up and see those guys on the sidelines?;

4) Assuming Argentina pounds Holland - it seems we’ll play either Mexico or Angola in the next round (much better than Portugal); In general, I’m still having trouble digesting that this team could be this good…We need to put up an impressive showing against Holland and I’ll start to begin to allow myself to feel confident…We need to beat Holland to avoid falling into Brazil’s bracket.

Nearly 17 years after his death, a "new tolerance" gives Robert Mapplethorpe his first exhibition in Havana. His roughest S&M images were not included.

"Parliament Speaker Ricardo Alarcon (above), one of Cuba's highest
ranking officials, agreed. He said Mapplethorpe 'achieves the
transmission of a purely artistic message and sense.'"

And scientists in the Netherlands have used emotion-recognition software on the Mona Lisa
to determine what she is actually feeling. What they found: "Leonardo
da Vinci's Mona Lisa was 83 percent happy, 9 percent disgusted, 6
percent fearful and 2 percent angry." I'm glad that's solved but I
think we'd all prefer to bring our own interpretation.

The software examines key features and assigns each a score with respect to six different emotions.So, the Mona Lisa is not a simple portrait you might think it has been. Forget "Opus Dei" and all those Dan Brown shit. Drill closer with scientific and psychological discoveries in ART!

In Cologne, Football's Sistine Chapel

I spotted this real-piece of ART to celebrate the world cup It's such a beauty to see fresco paintings of your favorite soccer stars in action. It's a masterpiece alright. They are like the Greek Gods, so mighty and popular. Some of my gurl buddies say that they should be painted nude ? What an Idea by Adidas, but the artist responsible didn't want to offend the players...so nudes for Classical Art this time is a no goner, crap!

The train station in Cologne, Germany has been outfitted in a gorgeous fresco of international football hotness (click to enlarge) by Hamburg-based illustrator Felix Reidenbach that took 40 days to complete. Adidas paid for the 40 x 20 meter mural.

Among those featured on the mural are Michael Ballack, David Beckham, Zinédine Zidane, Raúl, Kaka, Nakamura, Lukas Podolski, Lionel Messi, Juan Román Riquelme and Djibril Cissé.One more sign that the Europeans see these athletes as closer to God.
