In Cologne, Football's Sistine Chapel

I spotted this real-piece of ART to celebrate the world cup It's such a beauty to see fresco paintings of your favorite soccer stars in action. It's a masterpiece alright. They are like the Greek Gods, so mighty and popular. Some of my gurl buddies say that they should be painted nude ? What an Idea by Adidas, but the artist responsible didn't want to offend the nudes for Classical Art this time is a no goner, crap!

The train station in Cologne, Germany has been outfitted in a gorgeous fresco of international football hotness (click to enlarge) by Hamburg-based illustrator Felix Reidenbach that took 40 days to complete. Adidas paid for the 40 x 20 meter mural.

Among those featured on the mural are Michael Ballack, David Beckham, Zinédine Zidane, Raúl, Kaka, Nakamura, Lukas Podolski, Lionel Messi, Juan Román Riquelme and Djibril Cissé.One more sign that the Europeans see these athletes as closer to God.
