Annie Leibovitz's Magical Touch on Disney
My all time favourite photographer, Annie Leibovitz does it again, but now working with Disney, creates these marketing masterpieces that are sure to attract anyone from kids from 1 to 92. Each image features a scene with the featured celebrities transformed into the role of a fabled Disney character, expressing their own dreams and imagination.
As Cinderella, Scarlett Johansson is seen running down a flight of stairs as the clock strikes midnight with her glass slipper unknowingly left behind. The tagline reads, "Where every Cinderella story comes true."
Befitting a true princess, Johansson wears a stunning, one-of-a-kind Harry Winston tiara – a dazzling piece in platinum with more than 62 carats of sparkling diamonds and valued at $325,000. The dress worn by Johansson is a custom-made, Cinderella-inspired gown designed by Nicoletta Santoro.
David Beckham plays the part of the gallant Prince Phillip from "Sleeping Beauty," atop his trusted steed fighting the evil dragon. The tagline reads, "Where imagination saves the day". (See Below)
"There were many Disney characters I liked as a kid," said Beckham. "Now my sons love the Disney characters and it's a big part of their lives, a big part of many children's lives around the world. So to be part of that is an honor and very exciting. "I love going to Disney, I'm like a big kid," he added.
Beyoncé appears as "Alice in Wonderland," twirling in a teacup, accompanied by Oliver Platt as the Mad Hatter and Lyle Lovett as the March Hare. The tagline reads, "Where Wonderland is your destiny."
It just keeps coming, the ads and everything..I love what they did with the theme and the ad you watch on tv. America's So Called " New Prince Charming" Arrives in US
Recently, Beckham had been cashing in on fame and fortune. Since he's migrating to Los Angeles and no more the Mr.Red Devil we know in UK...he choose to come here as a prince, wtf! I mean, c'mon is this the way to get exposure in America? Why not show us your "trademark" corner-kick skills instead? And the question would be:'is there a part for Victoria in all this?' I hope not!
Not to mention, days ago, New York's Madame Tussauds museum put on display figures of the soccer idol and his wife, a former member of the Spice Girls singing group.
The figures are dressed for the red carpet, draped in a US flag and being greeted by a figure of US President George Bush holding a sign saying "Welcome to America." The couple will move to the US in August when Beckham begins a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team in a deal worth $US250 million ($A316 million). Give me a break already...talk about the attention they have!
Snow can wait I forgot my mittens Wipe my nose Get my new boots on I get a little warm in my heart When I think of winter I put my hand in my father's glove
I run off where the drifts get deeper Sleeping beauty trips me with a frown I hear a voice You must learn to stand up for yourself 'Cause I can't always be around
He says when you gonna make up your mind When you gonna love you as much as I do When you gonna make up your mind 'Cause things are gonna change so fast All the white horses are still in bed I tell you that I'll always want you near You say that things change my dear
Boys get discovered as winter melts Flowers competing for the sun Years go by and I'm here still waiting Withering where some snowman was Mirror mirror where's the crystal palace But I only can see myself
By: Tori Amos, from her album "Little Earthquakes"
A great song that tells you the season', what it can do to oneself and a time to reflect! This is my first winter for me and will never be the last. Another 4 months of pure white satin, not for the faint hearted
So, it begins the year of 2007 with temperatures hitting below subzero, Its been a month since I've writing my deviant deeds of my daily life yet all seems to be coming back to me now. Plattsburgh, as white as ever unleashes its wild, dark side of cold, harshness. This semester is definitely freezing everyones brains to think, on a slow start. I can only hope that things would turn out for the better. More to come....
